House No. 1

Our house in Redmond was listed last week on the MLS.  We are hoping for a quick sale but in this Topsy-Turvy market there is no telling how long it will take.

Because all our furniture is sitting down here in storage we have to sell the house empty.  Our realtor, Chip, suggested to us that we do 'Virtual Staging' for the MLS pictures.
This is exactly what it sounds like ... they take pictures of the house - empty - and Photoshop furniture in so that when people check out the house on the internet it is full of nice furniture and looks more inviting thus making people more apt to come and see it in person.

So,  what do you think of  my new furniture (and isn't my house clean) ....

This is a house that Mike & I are going to check out tonight -

it is located in the town that we decided we are most interested in - La Mesa

in the neighborhood that we love - Mt. Helix
and we love it because of the mountain views (well, San Diego style mountains) ...
Downstairs front Courtyard entry ... (love the Mexican tile)

Downstairs entryway just inside the door ...
Downstairs family room (I love the furniture) ...
Wet bar downstairs next to family room ...
 Kitchen ...

Another view of the kitchen ...
Dining room (oh, is that wallpaper I see.)  I do love those big french doors ...
 Living room ...
Upstairs balcony off the living room ...
Office (Love all those built-ins)

One of the 3 bedrooms ...
Master bedroom ...
Last bedroom that is being used as a sitting room (I think) ....
Zen  ....

Zen from another angle ...

House #1 stats:
  • 3 bedrooms
  • 3 bathrooms
  • office / den
  •  2400 sq. ft
  • 2 car garage
Well, that is the house we are going to look at tonight but while I love the style, look and location of the house - I am not sure I will be that interested because I don't think I will like the layout of the house.

I am not sure but I think that the  kitchen is on the upper level which means that every time we wanted to BBQ we would have to drag all the food & dishes downstairs - through the house - and out to the patio ...

I'll let you know tomorrow after we check it out ....

  1. Oh my gosh...that house is GORGEOUS. Really really beautiful.

And I need to try that photoshop thing on my house and then send the pictures to my mom...then she'll think I actually cleaned my house. ;)

  2. Love the virtual tour idea, it looks great!! Love the new house too, but that would be a big pain in the butt if the kitchen was up and your bbq patio area was downstairs.
