Dreaming ....

 I'm dreaming ...
  • Of one house sold ...
  • and another one bought ...
  • Of getting all my junk out of storage ...
  • Of having a garden to putter in again ...
  • Of drinking a beer on our new back patio ...
  • Of putting out bird baths, hanging bird houses & filling feeders
  • Of hanging pictures & finding forgotten treasures
  • Of sitting outside sipping my morning coffee
  • Of sleeping in my own bed again ...
  • Of having a BBQ again ...
  • Of being home ...
Mike and I have fallen in love with a house we went to see last night.

We both fell in love with it almost immediately ...

So ...

I think we are going to go tonight and put an offer on it - which they may not accept it because it will have to be contingent on the sale of our house.

It's not big or grand in any sense of the word but it feels like home -

It was love at first sight!

We both just felt at home in it.

It fit.

It's not charming or rustic - it's more old & well-worn, (built in 1970) and not in the least little bit fixed up or renovated..

It does not have a pool, a built-in BBQ, GE Profile stainless steel kitchen appliances, a small citrus grove, a grand master bath and nor is it slathered in granite ...

All things I though were so important.

Things I thought ... I really, really wanted.

Things I thought ... I really must have.

Gotta have ...

All things that this house .... does not have.

Nope - none of it.

In fact, this house is far, far, far from all of that!

It currently sports: 70's dusty rose & baby blue wall paper in the kitchen, aluminum windows, 80;s  door knobs & lighting fixtures, pine paneling,  and a decrepit old hot tub sitting out back ...

But, here's the Top 10 reason we're loving it  ...
  1. Amazing views out almost every window
  2. A sweet little lemon tree in front yard
  3. Timeless Rock wall surrounding house
  4. Major storage for all our junk
  5. Well priced
  6. Huge garage
  7. Private yet not secluded
  8. Big enough for the two of us
  9. Yet, not too small for visitors
  10. Room to garden but low maintenance

After a month living in our little shoebox of an apartment I'm starting to go a little stir crazy.

Crazy - like a hamster stuck in a habitrail, dreaming of busting free and getting out into some wide open spaces.

Nothing happens unless first a dream.

garden thoughts ...

'I sit in my garden, gazing upon a beauty that cannot gaze upon itself. And I find sufficient purpose for my day.'
