Pillars of the Earth ...

I am so excited because I just read that  an 8 part mini series based on the Ken Follett's book, "Pillars of the Earth" will be released this summer on July 23rd.

The mini-series was produced through a collaboration between a Canadian & German company and was filmed on location in Hungary and Austria.

It will air on the *Starz* channel.

I don't know how many people have read this book but it was on NY Bestseller List for over 30 weeks.  (I believe it was on the UK, Italian and French bestseller lists too)
"The Pillars of the Earth is a fascinating historical novel -- one that captured me right from the beginning and refused to let go until I’d turned the last page. Follett weaves believable fictional characters and the occasional bit of fact into one of the most captivating books I’ve read in a long time. If you’re the least bit intrigued by English history -- by the castles and the cathedrals and the civil wars for the monarchy -- you’ll enjoy every page of this book (even the gruesome battle scenes). And if you never gave a second thought to English history -- to the castles and cathedrals and the civil wars for the monarchy -- you definitely will after reading this book. I just bought the sequel, "World Without End" but haven't started it yet.
I loved Pillars and would recommend it so I will go out on a limb and wager that the mini-series will, likewise, not disappoint.

*sigh*

I loved this book ...
