One of the staples in my life since moving to Washington state in 1989 has been my friendship with Dana.
We have been close friends for over 20 years now. Wow,
where does the time go.
We met through our husbands who worked together and as fate would have it, we lived 3 doors down the street from each other.
We both had kids. We both had little kids. We both had daughters. Neither of us worked or had a car.
Dana is from Oregon and so neither of us our immediate family nearby.
In other words ... we were a
PERFECT fit.
Last Thursday, August 4th - for an overdue get together. It was so nice to visit with her because we hadn't seen each other for over a month.

Dana & I like to get together, drink some wine, chat & catch-up & make a mess painting.
It is fun & we get to release our inner Van Gogh.
It's a step up from finger painting, more creative than paint.by.number and quite relaxing after you splash on that first bit of color.

This is our 3rd trip to Palettes & Pairings. It's in Kirkland which is about 1/2 way between Dana's house & mine.
I've decided that I don't need to be a van Gogh or Picasso to grab a paint brush and have fun. It's not about the painting - the painting is just something to do while spending time with an dear old friend.
I used to be so hung up on the... 'If I couldn't do it perfectly or at least very well then I just wouldn't do it at all' philosophy of life.
WHAT A WASTE OF A LIFE ....
My new philosophy is -
'just love life, have fun & enjoy yourself silly'
Have a great day everyone
Thanks Dana for getting your 'van Gogh' on with me, it was fun.
Let's do it again soon.
